PARLEY are chasing national glory on two fronts following wins for their under-13s and under-15s in the Vitality Club T20.
Victory over Hambledon earned the under-13s a place in the semi-final of the South & West Group, while the under-15s saw off Corsham to reach the second round.
Coincidentally, both teams will face Taunton St Andrews – with the under-15s travelling to Somerset on Sunday and the under-13s hosting them on August 1.
Skipper Marcus Bragginton (31) and Kieran Laird (33) both retired not out having provided the platform for the under-13s to total 155 for seven against Hambledon with Joe Huns (23) also chipping in.
Oscar Spiller (3-27) removed Hambledon openers Jamie Lewis and Robbie Stone before leg-spinner Callum Ryan (2-18) got rid of top-order pair Ben Feeney and Jamie Restell.
Cohen Stewart (2-20) and Huns (1-22) were also among the wickets while a couple of run-outs brought an end to the Hambledon reply at 114.
Openers Freddie Pryce (22) and Ronan Graven (23) gave Parley under-15s a solid against Corsham at Burbage & Easton Royal CC’s headquarters.
A late flurry down the order from Kyle Hopkins (23), who remained unbeaten, saw them post a modest 103 for eight.
But an excellent display in the field saw Parley defend the total with considerable ease as Corsham were stopped at 81 for nine.
Although Ed Vickery (51) retired for the hosts, no other batsman reached double figures.
Ben Blackford (2-11), Bo Powell (2-10), Kyle Hopkins (1-9) and Charlie Clamp (1-22) all returned tidy figures while three run-outs highlighted the impressive nature of Parley’s fielding.
Parley won one of the national competitions in 2006 and a number of players have gone on to play cricket at a high level, including bowler David Payne who is now on the books at Gloucestershire.
