BOSS Eddie Howe admitted Cherries’ medical staff were “slightly baffled” by Dan Gosling’s recurring calf injury.
Gosling returned to the starting line-up against Middlesbrough following a three-game absence but succumbed on the stroke of half-time.
Howe told the Daily Echo: “Dan had various scans during his time out and every one came back with no major problem.
“I have spoken with the doctor and he is slightly baffled by this latest problem. We hope it is nothing long term for him.”
Meanwhile, defender Brad Smith has been given the green light to return to training following a consultation with a specialist regarding his knee injury.
“Brad should be okay,” said Howe. “He has been given the okay from the specialist to resume training early this week.”
