PIRATES ace Kyle Newman will miss tomorrow's SGB Premiership Shield trip to Wolverhampton.
Newman sustained a shoulder injury in Friday's abandoned Darcy Ward Invitational and has not recovered sufficiently to declare himself fit.
However, the Poole-born flier has shown signs of improvement and could feature in the second leg at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.
Pirates will use rider replacement with Jack Holder and reserves Nicolai Klindt and James Shanes able to take extra rides.
For Wolverhampton, Adam Skornicki will miss out, also with a shoulder complaint.
Meanwhile, Klindt yesterday scored six points from five rides after making the lengthy trip to Workington for the Cumberland Open Championship, which was won by the Comets' Craig Cook.
Krzysztof Kasprzak managed eight paid nine for Nice Racing in the first round of the Speedway Best Pairs at Torun. The Pole's five rides included two race wins.
Brady Kurtz today racked up 10 paid 11 for Pila in a training meeting against Ostrow.
