KRZYSZTOF Kasprzak's bid to reach Grand Prix qualifying got off to the perfect start as he won a Polish Golden Helmet semi-final.
The experienced charger racked up 13 points at Rawicz to earn his place in the final at Zielona Gora later this month.
Kasprzak said: "I am very happy to have won. It was always going to be a difficult meeting with only the top four qualifying.
"It rained beforehand and the track was very grippy but my mechanics did a good job and my bike set-up was perfect."
Kasprzak scored 10 points in Magnus Zetterstrom's farewell at Gdansk on Saturday.
He also managed six paid eight in Poland's 46-44 win over a world select team at Zielona Gora on Sunday.
