RESIDENTS are being invited to a free evening lecture at the AECC University College in Boscombe

Professor Richard Brown will explore the benefits of evidence-based, people-centred, interprofessional and collaborative health care to patients – particularly within the context of treating low back pain, frequently cited as the greatest cause of years lived with disability globally.

The lecture will launch the university’s ‘professional inaugural lecture series’ to provide lecturers the opportunity to give a greater insight into what they do.

Professor Brown said: “I am honoured to be the inaugural speaker at this series of professorial lectures. AECC University College is an institution that is dear to my heart and it’s always a pleasure to return.”

Professor Lesley Haig added: “We are delighted to be launching our professorial inaugural lecture series here at AECC University College and Professor Richard Brown is the ideal person to deliver our first lecture.

“The session promises to be thought-provoking and will no doubt be of interest to members of the public, as well as staff and students of AECC UC.

“As a specialist health sciences university, we are eager to develop and nurture our relationships within the local community.”

The event will begin at 6.30pm on Thursday, May 23 with refreshments. Professor Brown’s lecture will begin at 7pm and last for an hour. There will be an opportunity for Q&A/discussion after the lecture.
