Marks and Spencer open as usual following fire incident

Marks and Spencer has opened as usual today, following an incident yesterday evening involving a small fire. At 7.12pm on Friday, June 28, fire crews were called to scene after reports of "smoke and a smell of burning" were reported in the store. The store was safely evacuated and it was later confirmed that the smell was due to "a small fire in a flat roof where building works had been underway". The fire was not in the M&S building.

Fire service issue statement on fire at Marks and Spencer

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue have made a statement in response to an ongoing incident at Marks and Spencer on Friday evening. On Friday, June 28, fire crews and police were called to the scene on New Canal amid reports of "smoke and a smell of burning".
