I like a pretty game, and Special Forces X is pretty.
Which is an odd thing to say about third-person soldiering software, but it employs a graphical style similar to the utterly gorgeous Borderlands titles, but sadly inherits none of its ready wit or addictiveness.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a rancid mess, but other than some pretty soldiers and pretty, if samey, backgrounds, there’s nothing to get especially excited over in this online-only affair.
Unless you count a quick, unfair death as exciting, because SFTX will occasionally spawn your newly reincarnated fighty fellow right in the face of opposing forces.
But then war is rarely fair, now is it?
