Witness the action-packed adventures of a medical student has he navigates the corridors of a learning institute and healing facility.
Ooh, hark at the drama as he talks to fellow students about life navigating the corridors of a learning institute and healing facility.
That's about enough unfair sarcasm for a day, but the beginnings of Tales of Xillia, if you do choose to follow Jude's story rather than crazy-haired spirit wench Milla, the early stages are a little dull.
But this JRPG (Japanese role-playing game, please keep up...) gets a whole lot better very quickly once the two meet up for magical action funtimes.
As usual, the battles unpin from the main story, and as Milla you've got some pretty hefty firepower, but Jude can hold his own, particularly later in the game.
If you follow the genre, you know what to expect from this kind of stuff: big-haired odd couple save the world from evil, sometimes by climbing in gargantuan machinery. There's not much by the way of large robots in Xillia but the former is certainly true, and the often-amusing relationship between Jude and Milla complements the typically mad Manga storyline.
It won't convert the non-JRPG enthusiast but Tales of Xillia is stacked with all the meat, veg and outlandish wigs that fans demand.
