HAVING been made a patron of BSO Vibes in August last year, Julian Lloyd Webber returns to the venue on February 14 with a special Valentine’s Day performance at Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts.
For the performance, Julian Lloyd Webber will be playing the works of composers including Bach, Britten, Faire, Bridge, Delius and Rachmaninov, as well In The Half Light by his late father William Lloyd Webber.
He will be accompanied by pianist Pam Chowhan who studied music at Cambridge University, and completed her keyboard studies with Mrs Aronovsky at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Born into a musical family, which includes his famous composer brother Andrew, Julian Lloyd Webber has been one of Britain’s best-loved cellists for over four decades – a born communicator, with a passionate commitment to rare and neglected British music.
He has premiered more than 50 works for cello and inspired new compositions from composers as diverse as Malcolm Arnold, Joaquin Rodrigo and Philip Glass.
He has collaborated with an extraordinary array of musicians from Yehudi Menuhin, Lorin Maazel, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Georg Solti to Elton John, Stephane Grappelli and Cleo Laine, while his many recordings have met with wide acclaim.
The concert on February 14 is at 7.45pm. Call 0844 406 8666 for tickets and full details.
