BRIT award-winners The Fratellis are kicking off their new UK tour at the O2 Academy Bournemouth on November 17. The Scottish trio, made up of Jon, Baz and Mince who have all changed their surnames to Fratelli, only formed in 2005 but have already managed to come up with a number of anthemic tunes of the noughties.
Their biggest hit, the 2006 single Chelsea Dagger, it is still regularly heard across sporting stadiums up and down the country. Other hits, Henrietta, Creepin Up The Backstairs and Whistle for the Choir helped the band make a name for itself and a place in many fans’ hearts.
They won Best British Breakthrough act at The Brits in 2007 and their debut album Costello Music sold over a million copies in the UK alone.
Despite a hiatus from 2009 until September last year, The Fratellis say they are back and ready to return to their roots with a new record that is due for release next month.
Said Jon: “We’ve not changed in any way that is going to challenge people too much and you can’t really expect people to buy into what you are doing and then completely change it.
“You do enough to keep them motivated and interested.”
