YOUNG folk hero Seth Lakeman will be bringing his unique brand of music to The Old Firestation, Bournemouth on March 20.

The gig is part of his promotional tour for his latest album Tales From The Barrel House.

It is the first to be released on Seth’s own label Honour Oak Records.

Seth, right, has not only played all of the instruments on the album himself but he has also produced and mixed it independently.

He said: “I want listeners to feel they are down that mine, or in the barrel house, immersed in this living history while hearing the stories of the people who inhabit the songs. I’d like fans to literally feel the atmosphere in which the album was recorded.

“The theme I was seeking was to pay homage to hard-working miners, sailors, skilled craftsmen and artisans, who worked for little reward but took a pride in what they did.”

The album was recorded at the fantastic Morwellham Quay in Devon in the workshops there and even down one of the mines.

Seth, who is patron of this year’s Bristol Folk Festival, heads to Bournemouth for what promises to be a stunning performance.

He is supported by the similarly south-west based Winter Mountain, a mesmerising folk harmony duo en route to big things.

This concert is set to be a sell-out with tickets running out the door quickly.
