FORMER binman Andy Abraham has certainly done the rounds – from X-Factor to Eurovision – and is now preparing his own stage show telling the history of the Big Band. Launched into the limelight when he finished runner-up in The X-Factor in 2005, Abraham has not sat on his laurels but instead has gone on to represent Britain in the Eurovision Song Contest, record four studio albums and even begin a career in theatre.
The singer is set to entertain shoppers at The Dolphin Shopping Centre on Friday from noon to 1pm, ahead of his UK tour History of the Big Bands, which arrives at Lighthouse in Poole on April 27.
Andy will be sharing the fascinating stories of his experiences on X-Factor, Eurovision and his three UK tours.
He will also be available to pose for photographs and to sign copies of his records, including his new album Remember When… As a special treat to shoppers, Andy will also be performing a few songs from his hotly-tipped UK tour History of the Big Bands, which is one of the must-see shows of 2012.
“I can’t wait to get out there and meet people at The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole. My fans mean everything to me!
“It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to meet and chat to the people who have enjoyed and supported my music over the last seven years,” says Andy. Dubbed the “voice of the people”, Andy won the hearts of the nation with his amazing voice when he finished runner-up in the 2005 series of the X-Factor.
Since then, he has gone on to record four albums, including his platinum-selling debut release The Impossible Dream.
