LADDISH indie rockers The Pigeon Detectives had Bournemouth fans in a flap when they sold-out the BIC in 2008. Now the Yorkshire quintet is back in town, but this time at the more intimate venue of Mr Kyps in Parkstone.
Part of their Summer By the Sea tour, Thursday night will see the band showcase new and old material.
The Pigeon Detectives are currently in the studio, finishing the recording of their fourth, as yet untitled album, due for release in the autumn, which will be accompanied by a bigger UK tour. A single from the album is also planned to be released to coincide with the tour.
Front man Matt Bowman, said: “We’ve definitely got a new found hunger for being in the Pigeons after the time we’ve had away. When we did the first two albums, there was no time to reflect and sometimes, all you wanted to do was to sit down, laze about at home, perhaps go to the football and generally take it easy. Having had time to take stock over the past couple of years, you realise how much you miss being in the studio and doing what you love most, playing live and appreciating the people who stuck with you.”
