THE scores of Harry Potter and James Bond will be part of a night of classical music and fireworks being held to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra has planned an evening of music from films including other classics at Meyrick Park on Monday.
The gates will be open from 6pm for visitors to set down their rugs and picnics in front of the stage before an 8pm start.
Children will be entertained with a Disney medley from films including favourites The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King.
And conductor Anthony Inglis will direct music from John Williams, Elgar and Wagner.
The orchestra will celebrate the <&bh"http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/search/?search=2012+Olympics">Olympics<&eh> and Britain’s maritime history as well as playing songs from the Last Night of the Proms before the firework finale accompanies their performance.
The Orchestra has played throughout the reigns of no less than six monarchs – when it first played in Bournemouth, nearly 120 years ago, Queen Victoria was on the throne Tickets are available at £22 each (£26 on the day) and a variety of concession prices are also available. Gates open for picnics at 6pm and the concert will start at 8pm.
