LAST year, members of the Boscombe & Light Opera Company were invited to form a cabaret sub-group to be called Bitesize.

They gave their first performance last November with the eight-strong cast giving a non-stop performance of West Ens and Broadway shows, past and present at the Regent.

Led by James Dixin-Box, ably accompanied by Lisa Appleyard, Jenny Corbin, Jodie Saunders, Charlotte Searle, Luci Dodd, Jo Uzzell. Kim Fletcher, Sally Wheeler, Lee McGowan, Dougie Gubbins and Paul Matthews, the programme included numbers from Guys & Dolls, Chorus Line, Chicago, Sound Of Music, Oliver and Les Miserables.

The show also featured some not so well-known numbers from current shows such as Dream Girls, Wicked, Tangled and Jersey Boys.

More than a dozen songs comprised a medley of hits from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musicals.

The company is bitesize for a reason and they left the audience keen for another helping.
