It's three months since panto season finished, but with temperatures still struggling in the doldrums what better way to celebrate a chilly Easter than with a cracking production of Rapunzel?
Bournemouth Pavilion was packed on Friday afternoon to see Peter Duncan and the boys from Cbeebies' Rhyme Rocket give their fun and music-filled take on the immortal fairytale of the long-haired princess trapped in the tower.
It must be 30 years since Peter Duncan bounded on to our screens as a Blue Peter presenter, but he was full of energy and corny jokes as court jester Muddles - as were the cute and hilariously camp Rhyme Rocket duo Andrew Crawford and Joe Chambers, who had the kids in fits with their madcap antics - and the adults tittering with their saucy quips.
As someone who has seen more than her fair share of pantos I am glad to say this was one of the best I have seen.
Great 'current' songs, fab stage sets, costumes and fiery special effects were even joined by a mini circus.
And there was not one bad singer amongst the cast - Jenny Jones was especially good.
Kay Purcell made a great baddie and as well as receiving a now obligatory soaking by water pistols, the audience also got the chance to show off their Gangnam moves.
An egg-cellent time was had by all.
