THERE are hundreds of Elvis tribute acts around the world.
Some are good, some are bad. Some look like him, others sound like him.
Lee “Memphis” King is near enough the complete package - he's got the looks, the voice and the moves.
At the Pavilion on Friday night, he took us from Elvis' early years to his latter years in Vegas.
With costume changes and actual Elvis footage on a screen behind him, Lee brought the memories flooding back for the mainly elderly audience.
Aided by an excellent backing band and female singers, Lee gave us Heartbreak Hotel, Hound Dog, Burning Love and The Wonder of You, among the hits.
Lee even decided to put in some lesser known Elvis songs and his versions of Let It Be Me and Polk Salad Annie were the highlights in this area.
Lee's quirky humour sometimes fell flat and he complained he couldn't see the crowd through the darkness, but a rousing finale of American Trilogy, Suspicious Minds and Can't Help Falling In Love - complete with fireworks - gave Lee a deserved standing ovation.
And then, of course, Elvis left the building.
