ENTERTAINING children is not an easy business, tantrum-prone toddlers being harder to please than Simon Cowell. But Chris Jarvis and Pui Fan Lee are no amateur children's entertainers, the CBeebies favourites know instinctively what works and deliver a fast-paced show full of favourite songs, colourful characters and funny one-liners. The pair worked their socks off in their roadshow, which they performed twice at the Pavilion during Bank Holiday Monday. Their quirky nursery rhyme character that make Show Me Show Me so entertaining translated well on stage: we particularly enjoyed Pui's Old MacDonald and Chris's Humpty Dumpty. There were also appearances from the Show Me Show Me toys and interactive songs and games. Chris, who lives in Bournemouth, seemed to relish performing in his home town and the show was littered with local references and jokes. My two-year-old, who gets bored after just a few minutes, was soon dancing and clapping in the aisles. Clearly Chris and Pui have got the X Factor.
