THE standing ovation given to the four professional singers at the end of this popular show was truly merited.
Under the direction of Andy Reiss, his co-singers were David Fawcett, Rebecca Vere and Katie Leeming.
All four have played leading roles in Les Miserables in the West End and Manchester.
The show opened with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera and concluded with Les Miserables, with a selection from Miss Saigon opening the second half.
The singing of You’ll Never Walk Alone from Carousel was particularly outstanding, as was a selection of Disney favourites.
Other musicals featured included Blood Brothers, West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar and Chess.
Next year will mark the 15th anniversary of Beyond the Barricade.
