The production of Oh What a Lovely War by the students of the Arts University Bournemouth in collaboration with the new music group of the BSO; Kokoro, displayed an array of breath-taking talent.
It featured everything from puppetry to amazing choreography and astounding singing voices; I especially loved the operatic talents of Florence Odumosu.
The cast entertained and impressed with physical and subtle comedy, and an incredibly flawless transition through world and nationwide accents.
The scenery was simple yet beautiful and the packed theatre experienced the trauma and horrors of war broken up with hilarious comedy; demonstrating the understanding that only with bright light to contrast it can the true darkness of times be appreciated.
The cast were so engaging and it was a pleasure to watch such astonishing emerging talent.
The greatest praise I can give this production is that the experience was like watching a professional tour and I've no doubt that these amazing performers, set designers, costume designers and musicians will earn the money they deserve doing what they love and continuing to entertain hundreds of audiences for many years to come.
