HIPPY days are here again. That late sixties phenomenon of the Flower Power movement which gave us a heady mix of love-ins, psychedelic pop, and multi-coloured shirts and skirts, was brilliantly recalled by this tribute band named after the well remembered Welsh contribution to the party, Amen Corner.

Super veteran musicians with perfect balance, the six piece outfit of guitars, sax, keyboards, and percussion, were decked out in true Summer Of Love spirit, with flowery shirts, American Cavalry uniform, boating blazer, and Regimental Redcoat, along with the daringly down to earth frontman, Glen Leon, in a snappy mauve suit.

Possessing an attractive wide ranging voice and winning manner, Leon shared the vocals with the zappy lead guitarist, Leroy Small, in a showcase of period classics. From where it all started we had Scott McKenzie's anthem San Francisco and The Mammas and the Pappas’ California Dreaming. Beatles’ numbers included Magical Mystery Tour and Got To Get You Into My Life, and the Kinks were aptly included with Dedicated Follower Of Fashion. Among the original Amen Corner hits were If Paradise Was Half As Nice, Bend Me Shape Me, and High In The Sky - definitely a Hippy favourite.
