IT seemed like pantomime once again. This was my first live acquaintance with Paul and Barry Chuckle and I found them to be highly amusing and entertaining.
Entitled the Return of the Pirates of the River Rother 2, our two heroes are shipwrecked off an island, together with the ship’s Admiral Slacking (Jim Patton), who is seeking the fountain of youth.
They are hindered in their search by the pirate Black Eye (Brian Patton).
Here we had all the traditional ingredients of panto with revolving doors, custard pies, lots of water and plenty of slapstick.
This old fashioned comedy duo and I had a whale of a time.
In addition, there was magic and puppetry performed by Steven Bloor and Jacque Loughland and a talking toucan.
An excellent family show.
