A SELL-OUT crowd bounced and screamed their way through a no-nonsense gig from Example at the Bournemouth International Centre.

Dedicated fans and relative newbies rubbed shoulders to banish the Monday night blues in deafening style.

The 29-year-old London-born singer and rapper performed tracks from all three of his hit albums, mixing old-style Example with new and more mainstream material.

Real name Elliot Gleave, initials e.g (geddit?!) the Brit award nominee stormed the Windsor Hall stage fronting a dramatic set with dazzling lights and an equally dazzling band.

Mosh pits, "totally encouraged" by the main man, were soon up and running, giving security staff a headache, not to mention some of the crowd.

From the opening notes of Stay Awake, the crowd was up for it with Playing in the Shadows, Won't Go Quietly, Kickstarts and Changed the Way You Kissed Me going down a storm.

Anyone daft enough to stay in their seats was put in their place in Example's usual charming way but, in his words, "if you're still sitting down you haven't got a clue what this is about."

New single Daydreamer and a hint of what's to come this summer when he teams up with Calvin Harris again left the crowd in no doubt Example will be staying in the top flight for the foreseeable future.

And you get your money's worth at an Example gig. The music was non-stop for nearly four hours with support acts Wretch 32, P Money and Alvin Risk getting the crowd in the mood.
