Dorset fashion stylist and former beauty queen Katie Farley picks her favourite skin and hair products
As we flick through pages in publications of beautiful people with flawless skin and heavenly hair, life can sometimes seem very unfair. If only we all had the luxury to be Photoshopped!
But in the meantime, girls, here’s my pick of the loveliest new beauty products that’ll leave folk believing that we ourselves have just stepped out of a magazine!
Let’s begin to rejuvenate our summery skin by introducing the Garnier Body Ultimate Beauty Oil into our beauty boxes. This number one skin-perfecting oil is enriched with four precious oils – argan, macadamia, almond and rose.
Its blissfully-fragranced formula will visibly beautify the look of your skin. This could be our answer to Photoshop! – £5.33 available at Boots.
A beauty revelation for hair has arrived! The Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Hair Mist is a perfect choice if you prefer summer skin to be fragrance-free, as scent clings to your hair longer than skin. Treat yourself to bit of luxury this summertime! £32 (available county-wide).
Mist sprays are top beauty must-haves this season and are the breeziest new way to apply your skincare. Give some of these a try: Dr Jart Most Moist Water-Act skin mist (for sensitive skin) – £18 Shu Uemura Depsea Water In mist (for oilier skin) – £16.50 Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Water mist (revives post holiday skin) – £31.50 All available at Boots.
Benefit cosmetics are on a roll this season with a handful of amazing beauty buys. Enter Benefit’s Sun Beam. Retailing at £18.50, and found in department stores, this magic solution is a two-in-one; a make-up product but works just as well to add a summery glow to your legs, with a easy-blend formula leaving a glamorous quality to your skin while still appearing natural.
With the much-anticipated movie The Great Gatsby now released, Benefit cosmetics have launched a new colour collection inspired by the Art Deco design of the Golden Gate Bridge in the brand’s San Francisco hometown.
The make-up palette includes Longwear Powder Shadows in nudes, browns and pinks, along with its Ultra Plush Lip Glosses and Creaseless Cream Shadows in an array of new shades.
The make up brand has also launched an exciting limited-edition beauty palette by fashion designer Matthew Williamson. It’s an explosion of colour and personality. Named ‘The Rich Is Back’ it will be available from June 15 at Debenhams and Benefit boutiques, priced at £26.50.
So here’s to a summer of beautiful bodies in and around Dorset!
