To mark the start of the school summer holidays, the National Trust in the South West has launched its 50 things in 50 days festival.
Running through to the end of August, each day of the festival focuses on a different one of the 50 things to do before you’re 11¾.
The Trust is urging people to celebrate outdoor activities including climbing a tree (day one), making a mud pie (day 13), hunting for bugs (day 31) and cooking on a campfire (day 47).
Shona Owen of the National Trust said: “The amazing weather we’re experiencing motivates everyone to get out into the outdoors, and the 50 things list is not only handy inspiration for families, it also sparks many people’s memories of hot, sunny childhood adventures.
“Last year our social media sites came alive with people talking about these memories, so again social feeds (www.twitter.com/ntsouthwest and www.facebook.com/ nationaltrustsouthwest or our blog at www.ntsouthwest.co.uk) will be bursting with ideas and ways of helping parents to get outside with their kids to tick off lots of the 50 things over the summer.”
The Trust wants your input too, by sharing photos and video of you and your family completing the 50 things activities on our National Trust South West social feeds.
Look out for the wealth of events taking place over the summer holidays to help children tick off lots of 50 things.
