Susan Calman will present a new BBC One daytime show in which viewers will help to solve a fictional crime.
Armchair Detectives, which starts later this year, combines a murder mystery drama with a game show.
Comedian Calman – currently a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing – said she “can’t wait to get started and get solving”.
The show will transport three players and viewers at home to the fictional town of Mortcliff where a dastardly crime has been committed. Their task is to discover whodunit.
As the immersive investigation progresses, more suspects and clues will come to light.
Calman, 42, said: “I’m so excited to be presenting Armchair Detectives for BBC One Daytime.
“I love a TV crime drama and now I get to help the British public and the contestants in the studio solve one! I can’t wait to get started and get solving!”
Jo Street, entertainment and daytime commissioning editor, said: “Susan’s mischievous sense of humour and background as a lawyer gives her means, motive and opportunity to be the perfect host for this dramatic new whodunnit show.”
Calman also fronts BBC daytime quiz, The Boss.
