IT’S chefs’ knives at dawn for the rivals in the food categories at this week’s Dorset Tourism Awards.
For two of the four nominees for the Eating Out award are Bournemouth hotels: The Arbor Restaurant at the Green House and the Highcliff Grill at the Marriott.
Both restaurants will be battling it out with Beaminster Brasserie, Beaminster and Eastbury Hotel, Sherborne.
Justin Cohen of Darren Northeast PR, who is sponsoring the award, said: “We are very lucky here in Dorset, and especially in Bournemouth, with such a distinct variety of great dining out options.
“And with more future chef stars coming through the ranks at the Bournemouth and Poole College, and the impact of the fabulous annual Bournemouth Food & Drink Festival, it’s no wonder Bournemouth is now seen as such a relished foodie destination, with food tourism seriously on the rise.”
The winners of the Dorset Tourism Awards will be announced this week, Thursday October 24, at The Tank Museum, Bovington.
The finalists will be ranked Gold, Silver, Bronze or Commended and eligible winners will also be considered for the South West Tourism Awards. From there, they may be nominated to represent the region at the national VisitEngland awards. Watch this space.
