WHEN I was growing up, pudding was always the main event in my house. I was more interested in what was for dessert than for dinner.
Being a child of the 80s, it was normally Arctic Roll, rice pudding (with a dollop of jam), Angel Delight or fruit and custard.
If we went out, my sister and I would always decide what we wanted to eat for our final course first and think about the rest afterwards.
I even went through a phase where my friends and I would call into our regular pub at the time and ‘do pudding’. Getting together for a chat over a slice of cheesecake, apple pie or ice cream sundae.
With afternoon tea back on trend and numerous pudding clubs across the land, is it time to give pudding the attention it deserves?
Are you not satisfied unless you have a pudding? Do you rush through your dinner so you can savour your sweet? Will you always go for cheese over something sugary or do you skip dessert altogether?
