NEXT time you call into Badger and Bumble, you may notice a certificate taking pride of place on the counter.
For the Westbourne deli has been highly commended in the Deli of the Year 2011 competition.
Badger and Bumble was one of over 400 fine food stores nominated in the national contest, which is organised and run by Dorset-based artisan food producer Olives Et Al, after customers voted for it online.
Nick Baines, manager of Badger and Bumble, said: “We are really proud of this and thank not only all our customers who voted, but the team at Badger & Bumble who have worked late nights and long hours to transform the deli into what it is now.”
The delicatessens were judged on a number of criteria, ranging from demonstration and championing of deli attitude, identification and understanding of customers’ needs, to support during the entry process and business and product knowledge.
Bristol’s Arch House Deli was named the regional winner for the South West and the overall winner will be announced at the Great Taste Awards dinner in London on September 5.
