EXPLORE the unseen spaces of the Lighthouse in Poole in a groundbreaking performance created by Platform 4, which runs for five days between September 6-11. Wearing headphones, audiences will be taken on a sensory tour of the building, guided by a unique soundtrack.

They’ll journey along corridors, up and down stairs, looping around and about, retracing their steps and finding parts of Lighthouse that no audience has ever found before. In small groups of five the audience will encounter beautiful mini-installations along the way that use film, shadow, light and costume as the groups are drawn into the performance itself.

The show is inspired by the richness of memory and how this defines our experiences in life. Catherine Church from Platform 4 said: “Memory Points is inspired by life events common to us all, such as holidays and family celebrations – birthdays and anniversaries, as well as the concept of home and its meaning to us.”

The performance is the result of four years’ collaborative work between Platform 4 and The Alzheimer’s Society’s Connections Club, a support group that works with people with early onset dementia.

Locally, Platform 4 has been working with residents at The Aldbury dementia care home in Poole, run by Colten Care, on a piece of work to be added to the project.

An exhibition based on the installations created by Platform 4 as part of Memory Point(s), including the work made with the resident at The Aldbury, runs at Lighthouse from September 14–October 5.

All the collected memories will end up at the South Bank for the 2014 shows in London.
