PREPARE for madness, mayhem and a dollop of fully immersive fun as Faulty Towers: The Dining Experience delivers a pitch-perfect tribute to the classic British sitcom.
The improvised show is based on the legendary BBC series starring John Cleese, Andrew Sachs and Connie Booth and comes to Poole Lighthouse for a six-night run on Friday, September 6.
During the performance the audience will become guests in the hotel’s dining room and enjoy a three-course meal featuring all the best gags and iconic situational comedy.
With only a third of the show scripted, everything stays fresh as Basil, Rob Langston, Sybil, Suzanna Hughes and Manuel, Terence Frisch, cook up a storm of mayhem, while the audience play the part of their restaurant diners.
Rob said: “Our restaurant – whether it’s created in a theatre or in a restaurant – is a stage set with the audience in it and we have to be aware of that all the time. There’s a lot of rushing about the restaurant and physical comedy, so it’s important that that’s controlled and that everything is done safely.
“We still have to serve the audience an edible and enjoyable three-course meal, so that’s obviously important “Connecting with each other, listening and getting into the characters’ psyche, and going through their journey throughout are all as important as looking and sounding like the characters.”
Tickets are £45, including a three-course meal and glass of wine on arrival, visit lighthouse poole.co.
