THE dramas of school life will make up the drama in a comedy play coming to Poole in October.
Teechers is packed with situations that recall our salad days and will have a three-night run at Lighthouse from Monday, October 7.
John Godber’s play is a biting, witty comedy which puts the education system under a microscope and examines the themes and issues that are deemed as relevant today as they were when the former teacher wrote it in 1984.
Gail, Hobby and Salty are three fifth-form students who, through their end of term play, tell the hilarious story of an idealistic new teacher in his perilous first days inside a comprehensive school. With a bare basics set the three cast members will transform into a vast array of other characters including teachers, dinner ladies, students, an obstructive caretaker and the school bully.
And Frances Wood, who featured in the first season of BBC TV’s The Voice, plays Gail.
