THE tease is on... and Bournemouth seems to be going burlesque crazy! Dame Kitty of Rubyz has joined up with burlesque dancers Annie Young and Georgina Smith as the Kitty Kat Cabaret Club which has been bringing in seasoned performers to train up local girls with a mission to mambo.
Sunday finds the club reconvening for The Summer Swing Burlesque Revue and will feature special guests The Regular Joes, a Dorset based 10-piece swing band.
“We’re hoping to re-create the nostalgia of a typical 1940/50s burlesque show with all girls performing to the live band,” says Dame Kitty, who’ll host the show with burlesque performances by Miss F-Annie Whiskers, former Bluebell showgirl Miss Blue-Belle, Miss Dusty Knox, Miss Minnie La Quim and Miss LaBelle Zhenavech. The club’s students, The Kitty Kat Kittens, will also be appearing.
