RISING comedy stars Shappi Khorsandi and Kevin Bridges are no strangers to comedy club regulars, but this autumn both are taking the leap into the theatre circuit with dates confirmed at Lighthouse, Poole.

They join a comedy season at Lighthouse that already includes Dara O’Briain, Rhod Gilbert and Sean Lock.

Shappi Korsandi is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4 programmes such as Quote... Unquote, The Now Show and Just a Minute and has appeared on Have I Got News For You and Lenny’s Britain.

The daughter of an exiled writer and comic from Iran, her upbringing has been in no way conventional and her show includes her family’s experiences of everything from mental illness to opium dens.

Kevin Bridges has had an extraordinary 12 months. With a 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival sell out run and an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination for Best Newcomer under his belt, plus star appearances on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Live at the Apollo, Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You) and 8 Out Of 10 Cats, at 23-years-old, he is very much the hot young comic of the moment.
