MAKE some room. Make some noise. This is the mantra of the Balletboyz, who have been described as the boy-band of contemporary dance. BalletBoyz is one of the most cheekily original and innovative forces in modern dance.

The company appears at the Lighthouse, Poole tonight and tomorrow.

Led by former Royal Ballet lead dancers Michael Nunn and William Trevitt, the company thrills audiences with its distinctive style, blending spectacular dance both energetic and graceful, with stunning music and film. Eight dancers, hand-picked from open auditions by artistic directors Nunn and Trevitt, will be starring in an “explosive feast of exhilarating dance”, fused with the company’s trademark use of film and behind-the-scenes footage.

The all-male company will dance four works, including a reworking of Russell Maliphant’s Torsion, Paul Roberts’s haunting Alpha plus two new works commissioned by Sadler’s Wells.
