TV ACTRESS Dani Harmer has followed the Yellow Brick Road to Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre this Thursday and Friday.
The Wizard of Oz arrives in time for a special Easter pantomime and stars children’s TV star Dani Harmer, BBC1’s Tracy Beaker, in the iconic role of Dorothy.
“Having a love for musicals at a very young age, The Wizard of Oz has always been a favourite of mine, but let’s face it there is only one Judy Garland. What a legend.
“Also, as this is a pantomime version, I can put my own spin on the character which is great,” Dani told the Daily Echo.
She will be joined by comedy legend Bobby Davro as the Scarecrow, star of CBeebies’ Mighty-Mites & Tikkabilla Sarah-Jane Honeywell as Glinda and Aaron Sidwell who plays Steven Beale in EastEnders as the Wicked Witch of the West’s henchman.
Director Rob Forknall said: “It’s going to be great fun for all the family both young and old alike.
“Everyone remembers such great characters as ‘The Cowardly Lion’ and ‘The Tin Man’ who needs a heart etc.
“This show will take the original book written by L. Frank Baum and give it a new twist as only Enchanted Entertainment can!”
Production company Enchanted Entertainment are spending hundreds of thousands of pounds to ensure The Wizard of Oz tour will be a spectacular family production, bringing together a top cast, amazing costumes, fantastic dance routines and plenty of popular songs.
“I absolutely love it.
“I love to be able to combine the acting, singing and dancing. “It’s such fun, especially working with the team at Enchanted Entertainment, we have a right giggle,” says Dani, 23.
Tickets from £16 are on sale now.
