WITH his flowing locks and flying fists, wrestler Robbie Brookside makes his long-awaited Bournemouth comeback at this weekend’s Wrestling Spectacular at the Pavilion.
Brookside, one of the biggest names in the grappling game is set to star in a huge main event double-header on the big Sunday afternoon show on May 20 that also includes a Premier Wrestling Federation championship contest. The Liverpool Lad, who has appeared all over the world will want to hit the ground running because on his last visit he was edged out by another top star, James Mason, in a classic match at the BIC for the PWF heavyweight title.
Brookside, who has just been appointed by American giants WWE as their No. 1 talent-spotter in Britain, will be in tag team action when he partners teenage whirlwind Jimmy Meadows against the rugged international combination of Viking Warrior Crazy Horse and Ireland’s Dave Murphy.
Another globe-trotting ace, Wonder Kid Jonny Storm, defends the PWF lightweight title in the other feature event on the show.
Storm, currently the longest-reigning PWF champion, faces the 2011 Young Wrestler of the Year, Wade Fitzgerald.
In the supporting bouts, New Zealand’s Graham Hughes tackles the Masked Emperor, while Nick Riley goes in against P.J. Jones in a clash of high flyers.
• Sunday’s show at the Pavilion kicks off at 3pm. Tickets, including reserved ringside seats, are available from the box office, telephone 0844 576 3000, or on line via the BIC and Pavilion website.
