WHO knew that sheep led such exciting lives? They certainly do in Iceland as part of a new interactive show at Pavilion Dance in the Lower Gardens. Kindur – The Adventurous Life of Icelandic Sheep, above, brings an experience for children aged 5-10 to Bournemouth’s national dance house this Saturday.
Combining motion capture technology with beautiful imagery and modern dance, Kindur is the perfect introduction to performance for young children.
From blazing volcanoes to thundering waterfalls, northern lights and geysers, discover a magical world and meet the trolls and elves that inhabit this stunning land.
The story is told by three dancers, who become three friendly sheep or ‘Kindur’ as they are known in Iceland. Children will each be given a woolly heart, which will be pinned to their clothes before they are seated at the front of the theatre.
When it is their turn to participate, either from their seats or on stage with the dancers, their heart will glow brightly.
Using motion capture technology to create a ‘sensitive stage’, children will be invited to join the dancers, jumping, splashing and running through a virtual landscape.
Their movements and sounds will be animated on screens, allowing the children to play with the technology and be part of the performance.
• Performances run at 10.30am and 1.30pm with tickets costing £5 with babes in arms free.
