Now that I’m back at school, things have been really busy.
This month I have been involved in a couple of activities that contribute to our priorities.
I organised for myself and 10 other young people from Poole Youth Forum and Poole’s Shadow Board to assist the Lifeboat charity, the RNLI, for two days at the Bournemouth Air Festival.
It was great fun volunteering and we delivered sea safety messages to over 1,600 young children.
But most of my spare time has been spent organising for young people in Poole to take part in the British Youth Council’s ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign.
This initiative allows us to decide the issues that will be debated at the UK Youth Parliament House of Commons sitting in November.
I have been distributing ballot papers to local schools so that young people can vote on the issue most important to them.
It’s great that we are being given an opportunity like this to have our voice listened to.
