PIRATES run amok on Poole Quay on Sunday, December 2, when Christmas arrives buccaneer-style.
The quay will be buzzing with the sights, sounds and smells of a very special Pirate Christmas from 4pm when, as well as traditional carols by the tree, there will be drummers and snow, sea shanties, competitions and goodies for sale.
Sponsored by Jenkins Marine, organised by Poole Tourism in partnership with the Pirates of Poole and supported by the Daily Echo, the fun includes test your strength machines and some of the miniature piglets from the Poole Park grotto will be visiting.
There will be rides and street entertainers, a children’s colouring competition, a chance to create festive hand puppets and the opportunity to post a letter to Santa.
Victorian Christmas activities will take place at Poole Museum and Scaplens Court and Santa will arrive at 6.30pm by motorcycle and sidecar.
To visit him, collect a token during the event from the Welcome Centre.
The popular Flotilla of Lights will illuminate the quayside as the craft parade in their festive glory, hoping to win the Jenkins Marine Trophy for the best-dressed boats.
“It gets bigger and better and has become a real family favourite,” said Rod Jenkins, from Jenkins Marine.
“We’re really excited to sponsor it. It’s really the best way to start getting into the Christmas spirit.”
