AFC Bournemouth has been granted a licence to carry out resurfacing works at Kings Park lorry park.
Bournemouth council, which owns the site, has agreed that the football club can improve the site, which is currently in a poor state of repair.
The car park will be closed for safety reasons whilst the work is carried out.
Once re-opened, it will be operated by the council as normal except on AFC Bournemouth match days, when the football club will use it as an additional car park.
The lorry park is the latest area to be targeted for improvement. AFC Bournemouth recently upgraded the adjoining surface car park and built a training pitch at the south end of the stadium.
