RECYCLED aggregates manufacturer Avon Material Supplies has introduced three new eight-wheeled tipper lorries from Scania at Poole.
The Wimborne based firm has spent £600,000 on the 32-tonne trucks.
AMS said the new trucks would help save on fuel costs, reduce operational downtime and reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
Tracking and telemetry equipment also helps AMS manage its fleet in a more environmentally-sensitive manner, it said.
Ian Mariner, AMS director, said: “I am delighted AMS are able to improve its lorry fleet in such challenging times, this significant investment ensures our customers will continue to enjoy a reliable, affordable supply service for many years to come.
“Expanding the fleet will also allow our firm to act on all the new business enquires that AMS receives from contractors across Dorset and Hampshire.”
