PLANS to set up a free school in central Bournemouth are said to be on track for a September 2013 opening.
Parkfield School was originally intended to open in September 2012 but was delayed by a year because of problems in finding a suitable site.
A spokesperson for the project said they were still working with the Department for Education and the local planning department to secure new premises.
They said they were heartened by a recent announcement by the Government that they would relax the planning rules to make it easier for those trying to open free schools.
And they added that once new premises had been found, they would then organise a series of open evenings and public consultation events.
