A 42-YEAR-OLD man found dead in a church doorway in Bournemouth died of natural causes, a post mortem examination has revealed.

Karl Lambe was discovered in the main entrance to Richmond Hill St Andrews Church on Sunday January 20.

The man, thought to be a father of three, was discovered by church keeper Bob Bembridge, when he arrived to open up Richmond Hill St Andrew’s Church on Sunday, January 20.

Commenting on the Daily Echo website, a poster claiming to be the mother of two of his daughters, Leah MacDonald, said: “He was a good man, my partner for nearly a decade and just down on his luck temporarily. He was kind generous and totally in love with my girls and yes he was troubled but he didn’t deserve to die alone.”

In her post, Leah said Karl had been in Bournemouth for 10 years, working and studying in the town.

Police and paramedics were called to assist Karl, thought to originally be from Norwich, on the morning of Sunday, January 20, but efforts to revive the man failed.

The coroner has been informed. An inquest has yet to be opened into the death, with toxicology results not yet returned.

Also commenting on the Echo website, a poster claiming to be Karl’s sister said he had not told his family he was homeless.

His sister added: “He was homeless, and we can’t believe the way he was taken, love u (sic) Karl.”

Mr Bembridge said: “It was a terrible shock because I’d seen the man sleeping there before. I’d even spoken to him and warned him of the dangers of seeking shelter in the main doorway.

“He was wearing a light anorak and jeans; he didn’t even have a blanket around him to keep him warm.”
