YOU would have to have a heart of stone not to be moved by six-year-old Sophie Thompson’s dream.

Her wish is to have “magic legs” and be able to play with her little brother Ryan.

Sophie is – as her dad Michael says – “a beautiful, happy little girl”.

But without assistance Sophie can’t walk, stand, run, jump, balance or climb.

Born prematurely at Poole Hospital and diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 16 months old, Sophie needs to wear splints to force her feet to the floor and have intensive physiotherapy every day.

However as dad Michael also points out: “Despite being in pain, Sophie never complains.”

Sophie can undergo a spinal operation which could reduce the stiffness in her legs and give her more movement.

But that would cost £40,000 in total.
