HE’S almost 60 years younger than the lead singer of the Rolling Stones, but a Boscombe boy is proving he’s knows just as much about rock and roll.

Lewis Jordan Brown, who has just turned 11, is already wowing crowds of thousands with his piano playing.

The Corpus Christi Catholic School pupil learnt about rock and roll from dad David, who runs the Wyvern Hotel in Glen Road.

Mr Brown, 48, said: “He started having lessons just over three years ago, but he didn’t really take to it.

“He didn’t practice a great deal. Then he said to me, ‘Dad, I’ve put myself down for a talent show’.

“I asked him what he’d be doing and he told me he was going to play the piano.

“So he started playing, and it really just went from there.”

Mr Brown, who plays the piano with five-piece band Jelly Roll, said his son is already an “amazing” pianist.

“I help him but he’s getting better than me,” he said.

“We go to a rock and roll festival in Hemsby and that was the first time he played in front of a crowd.

“It’s the first time he’s really played in front of anyone, and he was just 10 then, but it was absolutely amazing. He was brilliant.”

Lewis is now set to make a special guest appearance with Jelly Roll at the Winton Conservative Club on February 10.

Peter Shaw, who organised the event, said: “Lewis is really very good indeed.

“I was at Hemsby when he was hauled up on stage to play with the band in front of 2,000 people – he’d never done it before in his life, but he was amazing.”

Tickets to see the gig are £5 on the door, and free for club and affiliated members.
