The jury in the trial of four footballers accused of sexual assault and voyeurism has been discharged after failing to reach a verdict on all but one of the counts.
AFC Bournemouth player Steve Cook, 21, from St Leonards, Anton Rodgers, 19, George Barker, 21, and Lewis Dunk, 21, from Brighton, were all charged with sex assault and voyeurism.
After 25 hours and 23 minutes of deliberations, the only verdict the jury returned was that of not guilty for Lewis Dunk on charges of voyeurism.
Judge Charles Wide then asked the jury if there was a reasonable chance of any other verdict.
The foreman replied: 'There is no reasonable prospect.'
Prosecutor Richard Barton told the court the CPS would seek a retrial on the remaining charges. A date is due to be fixed for that trial in the next week.
The alleged incident is said to have occurred when all four were players for Brighton and Hove Albion.
