TWO knives – one of which was thought to be bloodstained – were found in the bushes outside Lidl in Hamworthy yesterday morning.
The discovery, made by a groundsman clearing weeds around 9am, caused a stir among staff and customers – especially as they thought at the time that one of the knives was covered in blood.
The items were handed over to an officer – but police have confirmed they are not linking them with any crime and instead they being treated as found property.
The knives, found in two different locations in the bushes, are thought to have been there for some months.
Police are not treating the substance on the knife as suspicious and will not be running forensic tests.
If anyone has lost these items they can contact police on 101.
