BADMINTON star Lynnlette Aung has returned from international competition where she helped Team GB secure fourth place.
The 16-year-old Talbot Heath sixth former took part in badminton singles and mixed doubles at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney.
The event is held every four years to give young people the chance to contend for medals under Olympic conditions in Olympic venues.
It brought together 1,500 promising young athletes from more than 30 countries who competed in 17 different sports.
Lynnlette, who is currently studying four A-levels alongside training and competition, said she was delighted to be given the opportunity to compete.
“It was an unbelievable experience” she said. “Even though we came back without a medal I’m going to try to take it as a stepping stone.
“I learnt so much from this competition about myself as an athlete and about other sports and how they compete. I will never forget this.
