A CAR passenger was taken to hospital after a collision in Bournemouth caused "substantial" damage to a road.
Police were called at 5.10am to the single-vehicle collision outside the Talbot Rise Club in Columbia Road.
The incident involving an MG ZR caused substantial damage to the roadside forcing officers to close the road while they awaited recovery.
A lamppost was damaged with cables overhanging and the electricity company was called to deal with the aftermath.
The passenger of the car was taken to hospital with a suspected lower leg fracture.
